Feb 15 - Rubber Plantation on Vilmar Island by Amazon River

This is the last day of the cruise. Iberostar took us to the meet point of the Negro River and Amazon River. We could clearly see different colors of these 2 rivers, Negro is black and clear and the Amazon is brown and muddy.

After that we took a large group picture and disembark.

After disembark from Iberostar, we visited a local rubber plantation on Vilmar Island in Amazon River area via speed boat. They demonstrated how the rubber is extracted from the rubber tree and how to process it to make the rubber.

Following the visit, we had lunch on a floating river restaurant. It is actually a restaurant on a boat.

After lunch, we head back to airport via bus. It finally rained right after we got on the bus. We were so lucky that we did not encounter any sudden rain storm as it often happened in the Amazon region.
At the airport, we were on our own, and the APF did not arrange for allowing us to check our luggage all the way to Houston, and we have to check out the luggage and recheck them in Miami. The American Airline counter services were terribly in handling our check-ins in Miami. Few of us were in danger of missing the connection flight if we did not threating to suit AA. It is another lousy service provided by APF.
